Is He Blind?

Yesterday morning Jake was talking to me before school.  I turned around to answer him.  All I can say is, it's a good thing I hadn't sipped my coffee yet...

I simply said, "No."

He was all surprised.  What was I talking about?  He did a 360 looking for some reference as to my statement.

I said, "No.  There's no way I can send you to school in good conscience wearing that outfit."

Jake:  But mom, these pants are SOOO warm.
Kerry:  No problem.  Change the shirt.
Jake:  But I LOVE this shirt.
Kerry:  No problem, change into a pair of jeans.

Then he had a brilliant idea:

"How about if I unbutton the shirt?!?  I'm wearing a white t-shirt underneath that could show through!"

Yes.  Absolutely.  That would make all the difference in the world.  He could go to school confident that he no longer resembled a lumberjack and hunter's collision.  Instead, he would resemble a Christmas explosion with a little of Santa's beard thrown in for good measure.

Um...no.  Jeans it was.

How much do you want to bet that his "fashion statements" get him noticed by a few girls. Jake has always seemed to love bright colors, and putting things together that most of us would shudder at the thought of. He may be famous someday!!
